Donate a few $$$ to take back the House of Representatives, stop Trump

Twenty-four Republican House members are in districts that Hillary Clinton won in 2016.  We need to win these seats to take back the House.

Here's a website where you can donate to the 24 Democrats who challenge these 24 Republicans in 2016.

ActBlue will put the money into escrow.  Then, as a Democrat is nominated to challenge each of these 24 Republicans, they will release 1/24th of the money to that Democrat, thereby providing funding to the districts needed to take back the House.

Huge defeat for Trump: Money for Planned Parenthood, no money for border wall!!!!

Late on Sunday evening, details emerged about a new spending agreement that congressional leaders had reached to keep the federal government open past this week, when current funding runs out, and through the end of September. The deal is looking like a huge victory for Democrats—and a massive failure for Donald Trump and his Republican Party:
The bipartisan agreement includes $12.5 billion in new military spending and $1.5 billion more for border security, a major priority for Republican leaders in Congress.
The agreement follows weeks of tense negotiations between Democrats and GOP leaders after President Trump insisted that the deal include funding to begin building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump eventually dropped that demand, leaving Congress to resolve lingering issues over several unrelated policy measures.
The new border-security money comes with strict limitations that the Trump administration use it only for technology investments and repairs to existing fencing and infrastructure, the aides said.
In a way, that’s even more humiliating for Trump—and an even bigger betrayal of his supporters: There’s more money for border security but the government is forbidden from using it to pay for that insane wall. Maybe they’re still hoping Mexico will pony up?
The rest of the bill is also an amazing win for Democrats:
The agreement also includes several policy victories for Democrats, whose votes will be necessary to pass the measure in the Senate. Democrats fought to include $295 million to help Puerto Rico continue making payments to Medicaid, $100 million to combat opioid addiction, and increases in energy and science funding that Trump had proposed cutting. If passed, the legislation will ensure that Planned Parenthood continues to receive federal funding through September.
Hold on, there’s more:
The White House also backed away from language to take away grants from "sanctuary cities" that do not share information about people's immigration status with federal authorities.
Hot damn! It’s hard to believe that Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the presidency, isn’t it? Because this bill sure as hell looks like it was written by Democrats. It’s truly amazing that despite its huge majorities and rock-solid hold on Washington, the GOP simply cannot govern in any way, shape or form.
Of course, Congress has yet to pass this bill, and who knows what kind of fuss conservatives will try to kick up. But if far-right Republicans threaten not to support this package, then GOP leadership will have to troll for even more Democratic votes … which would require making the bill even more liberal. The alternative would be a government shutdown, which would fall squarely on Republican shoulders—again, see that bit about how they’re in charge of all the levers of power.

Unintended consequences of Trump's election

Courtesy of Fox News:

President Trump’s election appears to be negatively affecting gun sales in the U.S. and the bubble appears to be bursting despite a staunch advocate for gun rights in the White House and Republicans ruling Congress.

"President Obama was the best gun salesman the world has ever seen," Karl Sorken, a production manager at Battle Rifle Co. in Houston. Sorken is an Army veteran and self-described liberal who voted for Obama and notes the change for the industry under Trump is a topic of conversation in the shop.

Fears of government limits on guns -- some real, some perceived -- led to a surge in demand during Obama's tenure and manufacturers leapt to keep up. Over the decade ending in 2015, the number of U.S. companies licensed to make firearms jumped 362 percent.

"The trends really almost since Election Day or election night have been that gun sales have slacked off," said Robert Spitzer, political science department chairman at State University of New York at Cortland. "When you take away Barack Obama and you give the Republicans control of both houses of Congress, which is extremely friendly to the gun lobby, then the political pressure subsides. And that surely is at least a key part of the explanation for the drop-off in sales."

The Washington Post reported that the FBI conducted about 500,000 fewer background checks in December 2016 then in 2015. Gun sales this year have reportedly dropped about 17 percent.

I bet those gun dealers are really wishing that Hillary won the election, because she freaked out the ammosexuals almost as much as Obama did.

So --  now they finally have the president that they thought that wanted and their business goes right to hell --  along with the rest of the country.

Irony is a cruel mistress.

There is one bright note however, apparently there are now some liberals so freaked out over the election that THEY are arming themselves.

NOTE:  I checked with my local gun shop last week -- I was there buying some gun cleaning and reloading supplies.  Sure enough, business has dropped to a trickle.  He's marking down AR-15s and AR-15 accessories to bargain bin prices.

Lock him up!!!!

Oppppssss!!!!!

Retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn is looking to make a deal for immunity.
According to a Thursday Wall Street Journal report, Flynn told the FBI and congressional officials he is “willing to be interviewed in exchange for a grant of immunity from prosecution.”
Flynn worked for Trump’s campaign and was quickly appointed to National Security Advisor, with top secret access to classified intelligence documents. He was forced to resign after it was revealed he discussed U.S. sanctions on Russia with Moscow’s ambassador before Trump took office. Flynn has also come under scrutiny for his ties to Russian operatives and businesses.

WSJ said, however, that Flynn hasn’t been able to find anyone to agree to the deal.

Mike Flynn tells the FBI he’s ready to talk, but only for immunity. However — you only get immunity if you deliver someone else higher up the ladder. And there’s only one person higher up the ladder.

Rats leaving sinking ship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
